New Reception Parent Information
Sessay CE Primary School is a very special place, where children grow together in love and learning.
We are a small, happy and vibrant rural school. Our vision is to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where children will recognise and achieve their full potential.
Our small rural school ensures that everyone is treated as an individual. We pride ourselves on our school family ethos where staff, pupils and parents all know each other well. Working closely in partnership with our Federation school Husthwaite and the wider community is key to ensuring the best possible education for all pupils.
We encourage a growth mindset, set high standards of learning and celebrate the achievements of every child within our exciting, broad and balanced curriculum. Our curriculum is based upon our Christian values. It is inclusive and through inquisitive and creative minds our children develop their self-confidence as learners and are encouraged to progress socially, emotionally and spiritually.
The transition for our new Reception children this year has been limited due to the current circumstances and COVID-19 restrictions. We are so pleased that at least all the children have had one transitional visit in being able to attend our Teddy Bears Picnic earlier this half term where they met the staff and Year 1 children who they will be in a class with. In September as always, we can be flexible to meet the individual transition needs of all our new children.
Please do share the links below including our Class Byland virtual tour to familiarise your child with the new surroundings and people they can look forward to seeing in September. You will also find documents including the School Prospectus that has lots of useful information you may need.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our Sessay family and know that you will love being a part of it as much as we do. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 7th September.
Miss Bennett, Mrs Tyrka and Mrs Bennison.
