Nursery Provision

Apple Tree Nursery

Although there is currently no nursery at Sessay Primary School our federated school, Husthwaite Primary School, has a full time nursery – Apple Tree Nursery.

For more information please follw the links or contact Mrs Sarah Dixon on 01347 868371

Apple Tree Nursery caters for children aged 3-5 years through the provision of a nursery class.  The nursery is run alongside our Husthwaite Primary School’s Foundation Stage class which also includes reception children.

We are the only provider in the locality which offers nursery education in a state school, led by a qualified teacher who is also our Foundation Stage Manager.   All nursery staff hold level 3 or above qualifications relating to children’s education and development

Children are welcome to attend our nursery from the term after they turn 3 years old which is in line with their entitlement to the universal early years funding (15 hours per week free childcare).  However, some working parents may also be able to register with HMRC to claim a further 15 hours child care per week through the extended hours provision.  Further details of the extended funded is available at: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/providers/

We also accept ‘Rising 3’ children as part of our paid provision.  These children attend our nursery for one or two sessions per week from the start of the term in which they turn 3 years of age as a transition to becoming a nursery child.

Nursery sessions are available from 8.45am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only. Please enquire at the school office for full details of all sessions available.  We offer full and part day care from 3 hours to 30 hours per week.
