Our School Values

Growing together in love and learning:

School Information

Sessay Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School was built in 1848. The school is situated at the end of the village, next to St Cuthbert’s Church, and is around 6 miles from Thirsk. The school consists of a mixture of listed buildings and recent additions located around extensive grounds in a quiet rural setting.

We pride ourselves on our warm family atmosphere and close links between the staff and the parents. Many parents help in the school on a regular basis and this involvement is much encouraged. We aim to provide a stimulating and interesting environment, encourage children to ask questions and develop enquiring and creative minds.

Your support for your child’s education is crucial to their progress. Please tell us if there are any adjustments we need to make to help you support your child, for example: letters in large font; letters in different languages; wheelchair access; explaining things over the phone; a discussion with a school colleague of the same gender.
